For the Love of Europe

eu_parliment
A great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head….

The quote above is from the Book of Revelation. The twelve stars of the EU flag were inspired by this passage, so that every time the EU meets in Brussels, they meet under the crown of Mary. It has been said by Hilaire Belloc that a Catholic sees Europe “from within” because “Europe is the faith, and the faith is Europe.” That has been our experience.

For our last post before returning to Mexico, we’ll leave you with the great artistic images we found across Europe of Mary with Jesus.

Merry Christmas Europe!
